Cool down as the summer heats up with this easy Strawberry Mojito recipe. It’s fruit, refreshing, and easy to scale up for your next cookout.

fresh strawberry mojito with mint in glasses

A freshly made strawberry mojito is one of my favorite cocktail recipes, especially in the summer (this Jalapeño Margarita is a close second).

No matter who I’m with or where I am, when I have a mojito in my hand (or a Skinny Margarita), I can’t help but smile with the confidence knowing that bright, sunny times have arrived.

Made with fresh ripe strawberries, a handful of refreshing mint, a squeeze of lime, and your favorite white rum, better grab a pitcher because, after one sip, these ice-cold strawberry mojitos will become your official drink of the summer.

5 Star Review

“So good!! Definitely staying on my summer drink rotation.”

How to Make the BEST Strawberry Mojito

This strawberry mojito recipe follows the standard mojito cocktail formula: muddle lime juice with sugar and mint; stir in rum; top with club soda, but adds a fresh, fruity addition of juicy summer strawberries.

Tip!

Written as a strawberry mojito for one, this recipe is easy to scale (like this Spicy Margarita recipe). Increase the quantities as desired and prepare in a pitcher to whip up a batch of strawberry mojitos for a crowd. Another crowd favorite cocktail is this White Sangria.

The Ingredients

  • Strawberries. The natural sweetness of the berries allows for a reduction in sugar needed in the recipe. In my school of cocktail math, this makes strawberry mojitos a health food. Drink up!

Market Swap

Strawberries are my favorite for this recipe because I love how they pair with the cool refreshing mint. However, raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries could easily be swapped or added to this recipe for a fun fruity twist. Or try a mix!

  • Mint. An essential ingredient in any mojito recipe (and Whiskey Smash). It’s cool, refreshing, and fragrant.

  • Sugar. Draws our the juices of the strawberries, amplifying their natural flavor, and adds just the right amount of sweetness to smooth out the rum.
  • Lime. Adds that perfect pucker (like in this Italian Margarita) and balances the sweetness of the strawberries and bite of the mint.
  • Rum. For a strawberry mojito recipe, I like to use silver or white rum. Not quite as heavy as dark rums and with a cleaner, less sweet profile, I find this type of rum pairs best with fruity, sweet strawberries. (No need to break the bank; any mid-level rum will do).
  • Ice. Keeps things frosty cold.
  • Club Soda. For the perfect fizzy finish. (Also used to top off these easy Peach Margaritas.)

Substitution Tip

Any bubbly will do here. If club soda isn’t your thing, you can top off this easy strawberry mojito recipe with a splash of tonic water, sparkling water, or make a strawberry mojito with Sprite (or another lemon-lime soda).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Make Strawberry Mojitos Blended?

Certainly! For something more akin to a strawberry mojito daiquiri. Combine the rum, mint, sugar, and ice in a blender. Add more ice/rum to taste.

How Do You Make a Virgin Strawberry Mojito?

To make a strawberry mojito without alcohol, follow the recipe as directed, omitting the rum from the recipe.

Can I Make a Strawberry Mojito With a Different Liquor?

Rum is the booze traditionally used to make mojitos so if you deviate from rum you won’t really be making a true mojito. However, if you’re okay with deviating from the traditional recipe, the flavors in this drink work well with vodka, gin, or tequila.
