^^current status: In California wearing ALL THE DRESSES. Yay sun!

Greetings from sunny California! I’m currently on my way to a working dairy farm to learn more about how a life essential (ahem, BUTTER) is made. I’d love for you to follow along on Instagram. I’ll be sharing my adventures, and I hope some cute baby cow pictures too.

Ben and I spent Easter weekend with my family in Kansas City, where we had quite the mini reunion. Our family from England came over to visit, and our crew was large enough to justify hiring our own private bus for a BBQ and Brews tour. Four hours and formidable amounts of brisket, sausage, slaw, and burnt ends later, we were in a very very happy place.

Speaking of happy places, I have some really fun links and favorite finds for you today! From the cute top you need this spring, to a look at how Girl Scout cookies are made, to the pair of jeans that is so legitimately comfortable, I actively choose to wear them instead of leggings, this post has a little something for everyone.

Most Popular Recipe on my Site Right Now: Slow Cooker Greek Chicken.

Upcoming Blog Recipe I’m Most Excited to Share: There are two, both coming next week! The most increeeeedible fruit dessert (hint: strawberry is involved) and enchiladas with an unexpected filling.

Reading: Actually, doing more podcasting! Latest favorite: How I Built This. Don’t miss the episodes with Sara Blakely (Spanx), Yvon Chouinard (Patagonia), Steve Ells (Chipotle), and Kate and Andy Spade (Kate Spade).

How Girl Scout Cookies Are Made: My favorites are Samoas and Thin Mints (but only if the Thin Mints have been in the freezer!). How about you?

Cookbook Recipe I Made This Month: Thai Chicken Curry from The Pretty Dish.

How to Eat a Slice of Pizza: More detail and possibilities than you ever imagined.

NEW FAVORITE JEANS: So comfy. So cute. I’m actually wearing them as I type this!

Favorite Spring/Summer Tops: This airy white number, this pretty floral tank, and this simple scalloped tank. This off-shoulder floral will be mine if I win a shopping spree anytime soon (a cute, more affordable option here). Note: pair any and all of the above with those magic jeans!

How I Plan to Use the Butter I’m Learning About This Week: A warm slice with ice cream, please!

The Most Hilarious Excuse for Not Filing Your Tax Return: “The dog ate it” has some competition.

YES! I am not the only one who loves this combo: No, I am not pregnant. Yes, I do really eat this, and YES. It is delicious.

Kitchen Gadget You Need: This citrus juicer. Your only regret will be all the lemon, lime, and orange juice you’ve been missing!

    1. Hi Liza, I am so flattered! It is a super old dress that I got on years ago. I don’t think they have it anymore, but you might be able to find something similar!

  1. I don’t know if you’ve tried it before, but that black-bottom oatmeal pie is TO DIE FOR. In fact, now I’m thinking I need to make it again this weekend. (I need something to distract me from the 4–12 inches of snow/ice in the forecast.)

  2. The peanut butter and pickle sandwich has been around since my childhood. We would toast the bread before putting on peanut butter and pickles. I haven’t had it in forever though. Hope you have a great trip in CA!

  3. I love this post! I usually come here to read food posts, but this is so fun. And welcome to California! I hope you have a great time at the dairy farm.

  4.
