Glad you enjoyed it, Susan! Thank you! For the temperature, Step 2 recommends medium-low heat but it will also be based on your specific pot. Hope this helps!
Absolutely delicious and so much fun. Thanks! Based upon what I could buy, I substituted with a 500g block of Norco Natural Australian non-animal rennet cheese and Meadowbank riesling. I no longer own a fondue pot, so I used an electric frying pan on its lowest setting, with the kick stand up at one end so the cheese mixture stayed at the other end in a deep enough space.
A very nice recipe. We made this fondue with my boyfriend tonight and it was so creamy, light and flavorful. It was very fun! We used a small white fondue pot from Amazon. And we cooked cheese and the other ingredients in a bigger pot on stove.
Such an easy but spectacular recipe! The cheese combo was so rich and decadent. Our dipping options included boiled baby potato, roasted brussels, steamed broccoli, raw baby zucchini (a surprise hit), grilled farmer sausage, meatballs, cornichon, cherry tomatoes, cheese straws, white and multigrain baguette, Granny Smith apple chunks. Thank you Erin, for another delightful dinner party option! We had a marvellous time enjoying this lovely fondue.
Fantastic recipe for fondue, delish!!! One thing I need to ask is mine I think came out a bit too thick? When you say one cup of white one how much is that approx (I am in England)? Or, how can I remedy this. Thank you so much for this recipe it is a keeper for sure.
Hi Ona, I’ve only tested the recipe as written and there are no other reviews who have used arrowroot, so it would be hard for me to say for sure. If you decide to experiment with it, let me know how it goes! Hope you enjoy it!
Done EXACTLY as directed. Just go one big blob of cheese surrounded by liquid?! I measured exactly, stirred in between and the liquid and the cheese would not come together. Nothing but lumpy! Wasted $25 of cheese!?
I’m so sorry to hear you had trouble with the recipe, Michelle! Could you take a moment and look at the video and tell me at which point yours looked different than mine? Did you coat your cheese in cornstarch? Which kind of cheese was used? Also did it ever boil? It definitely should be thick and creamy and not lumpy.
Turned out amazing! I tripled the recipe to feed a larger crowd and it was perfect. Took a long time to melt all the cheese but we all took turns whisking and had fun in the process. Also, I used arrowroot in place of the cornstarch and it worked great. Thank you Erin!
Thanks for the recipe! I would add recommended temperature settings for the fondue pot. That’s the only thing I found missing. Very tasty and fast!

Hey there! Could I use a dry white wine instead of brandy for this recipe?
Hi Rachel, this recipe actually calls for dry white wine. You can use more of it in place of the brandy. Enjoy!
Can I use cognac instead of brandy? We’re trying it this Friday.
Hi Marion, Cognac is a type of brandy so that will work! Enjoy!
What would be a good substitute for the alcoholic ingredients?
Hi Lacey, you can use chicken or vegetable stock for the wine and just leave out the brandy. Enjoy!
Fabulous recipe! I had tried many different recipes over the years and found this one to be my favorite!
Thank you Terry!

Great to hear, thank you Mary!
We made this for my Valentine Birthday at my daughter’s home. We totally had a blast alternating between the cheese and the chocolate fondues.
Love to hear that, thank you Donna!
Best fondue I’ve ever had
Thanks so much, Samantha!
Hello. Can you please tell me how many cups of cheese equal the 1/3 lb of each cheese? Thank you so much.
Hi Susan, I’m sorry, I didn’t measure it out in cups.

Hi Dee! Glad you enjoyed it! It’s 236 ml. Hope this helps!
I will try to make it
Enjoy!
Great recipe! I used shredded sharp cheddar and 1/4 c shredded parmesan and it was delicious. Had to double the amount of wine.
Great to hear, thank you!
For the cheese fondue could you substitute with arrowroot instead of cornstarch or flour?
Hi Ona, I’ve only tested the recipe as written and there are no other reviews who have used arrowroot, so it would be hard for me to say for sure. If you decide to experiment with it, let me know how it goes! Hope you enjoy it!
How many total ounces will this recipe make? I have an 8 qt fondue pot and trying to figure out how much to make.
Hi Christine, I’m sorry I haven’t measured it out in ounces but I normally use a 2-3 qt pot. Hope this helps!

This is our third year in a row making this fondue. It’s delicious, easy to make, and has become a tradition among family. Thank you!
Are the liquid measurements doubled when doubling the recipe? Or is it not an exact science?
Hi Lindsay, if doubling the recipe, I’d make sure to double all of the ingredients listed. Hope you enjoy it!

So happy to hear it all worked out for you , Lindsay! Thank you!
I made it for my husband and me and it was absolutely delicious. It is a keeper in our trove of recipes!!
So happy to hear, Susan! Thank you!
