These are my go-to energy bites! The base is perfect as written. My fav add ins currently are chia, mini chocolate chips and freeze dried strawberries. So good!!!
Versatility through the roof and SO easy to make! To say these are the perfect snack would be an understatement. My husband and I love them, especially nice and chilled! I have to eat gluten-free, so energy balls are considered a cherished go-to dessert and totally satisfying.
These nutritious AND delicious energy balls hit the “hungry spot” between lunch and dinner! I like to use mini chocolate chips, dried sweetened cranberries, and thick sliced toasted almonds in our energy balls. YUM!
I would make this recipe again it was very well received by all. Very tasty however would like the calorie and nutrients breakdown as the recipe is written.
Glad to hear, Kathhleen. For the nutritional information, it is at the bottom of the recipe card for the original chocolate chip ball. It’s impossible on the technical side of the recipe card to have multiple information for multiple recipes. The good news is that you can calculate the calories for free at MyFitnessPal (there are other similar sites too). I hope that can be a helpful resource for you!
I make a batch of these nearly every week! My son and I both love the regular chocolate chip variation and they are great to grab and go when you have a little pang of hunger but no time to make something. And super easy, I love a recipe that does not have to go in the oven!
I would make this recipe again. I added 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (no added sugar, 30g of protein) to make these more nutritious. I used honey, chia seeds and lily’s dark chips. Let them sit for a day and wow. So good. So easy.

We love these energy balls for a quick breakfast before swim practice. My teen enjoys them as do I. They are easy to make too!
Sounds perfect! Thank you Lara!
Always have these in the freezer. They thaw quickly. I like them heated a bit.
Thanks Robert! Glad you enjoy them!
We absolutely loved it!

Thanks for the feedback on the protein powder, Brenda! We have lots of readers asking how it would work!
I love to make these! Chocolate chips are a must add in! I freeze them and enjoy when the craving for something yummy but healthy strikes.
Freezing them is so good! Glad you enjoyed the recipe, Betsy!
