This good-for-you Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip is thick, creamy, and longs to be smeared on your sandwich or dunked into with chips and veggies.

No Guilt Ranch Dip

Say buh-bye fatty ranch dressing that negates every salad it touches.

Hello to this protein-packed skinny ranch dip!

As I shared back when I posted this Roasted Red Pepper Parmesan Dip, nothing makes me more skeptical than a dip that advertises itself as “skinny.”

Most of the time, I’d rather have less of the real-deal than more of a low-fat dip that doesn’t satisfy.

Fortunately for us, a thick, dreamy base of plain Greek yogurt is the ideal stealthy healthy vehicle for the addictive garlic, onion, and dill spices that create classic ranch flavor.

Ben, who ingests vegetables with the attitude most humans apply towards cough syrup—a necessary evil—ate a good chunk of this Greek yogurt dip with carrots before I had even started the photographs!

“Delicious! Even my 12 year old daughter who doesn’t like ranch dip or even Greek yogurt, thinks it is tasty!”

How to Make Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip

All you need for this ranch-style Greek yogurt dip is a cup of your favorite non-fat plain Greek yogurt and a handful of dried herbs and spices that you likely keep stocked in your pantry.

The Ingredients

  • Greek Yogurt. Packed with protein, one of my favorite ways to use non-fat plain Greek yogurt is to turn it into a healthy Greek yogurt dip or sauce. It’s the best “skinny” swap for sour cream which is commonly used in other dip recipes.

Substitution Tip!

If you don’t have non-fat Greek yogurt on hand, readers have reported success making this recipe with traditional plain yogurt also. The consistency will be a bit thinner, but it will still taste great!

  • Garlic Powder and Onion Powder. Lends some zip and a little bite to the dip.
  • Dill and Chives. Brings color, freshness and that signature ranch flavor.
  • Worcestershire Sauce. Adds saltiness and craveable, savory umami flavor to the dip.
  • Cayenne Pepper. Just a pinch of this spice goes a long way in adding a touch of heat to this cooling dip.

Substitution Tip!

If you are really in a big hurry, you can of course always turn to a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix. Mix a few teaspoons into Greek yogurt and you are good to go.

(That said, I love this healthy homemade herb and spice blend though because it cuts down the sodium substantially from what is typically found in the Hidden Valley packets.)

  1. This was great! I plan on pre-making the spices to add to yogurt and Worcestershire sauce so we can whip it up faster. Thank you so much for sharing!5 stars

  2. This is good and so much cheaper than buying a bottle of ranch. Goes well with veggies, chips, and would be a good sandwich spread. I didn’t have worsteshire sauce on hand but it’s fine without it. I added in a little bit of lemon juice, pickle juice, and lemon pepper.5 stars

  3. This was fantastic! Better than I thought, I didn’t have the Worcestershire sauce as it’s hard to get here, but it still turned out delicious! Amazing fat-free ranch I’ll always use now!5 stars

  4. This is seriously so good! I happened to have some fresh dill so I added that instead of dry. My 4 and 6 year olds were licking it off their plates 🤤 I’ve been trying to eat more protein and calcium and this has both. Thank you for this recipe!5 stars

  5. Is the serving size under the nutrition facts correct?
Serving size listed is 1 gram at 132 calories.
A typical dip/dressing serving size is about 2 tablespoons, which is about 30 grams, which means 30 grams of this dip would be 3960 calories?

    1. Hi Desiree, serving size is correct. For each recipe, it is based on the information available in the calculators themselves. These numbers are meant to be a guide, not a statement of fact. Many elements can cause the dish I make at home to vary nutritionally from the iteration you create, including brands of ingredients, measuring styles, and final serving size. Further, the accuracy is limited by the information available in Wordpress Recipe Maker databases. When in doubt I would double check with a free source like myfitnesspal.com. Hope this helps!
