• I had mince and potatoes and wasn’t sure what to make. This recipe is a great spin on regular savoury mince! I loved the zing the hot sauce gave. I served it with some crusty Turkish bread. Glad I found this recipe!5 stars

  • This was the single worst recipe I have ever followed precisely that culminated in a disastrous inedible mass of wasted and tasteless food with undercooked potatoes.1 star

    1. I’m so sorry to hear you had trouble with the recipe, Emma. I’d love to try and troubleshoot this with you, because I’m not quite sure what happened or how it could be inedible.

  • I had my doubts, but it was so delicious! I used ground turkey and served it with scrambled eggs and cheddar on top. The four of us loved it. I will definitely make it again. So happy to have found a recipe for ground meat that isn’t a taco or burger! Thanks!5 stars

    1. Hi Kris, the potatoes are still firm at the time you add the beef so they don’t get smashed. Hope this helps!

      1. I think Kris is right, while you are “chopping” the meat, you are actually “chopping” the potatoes at the same time. I know this is a One Pan meal, but I would do the potatoes in a separate pan or don’t do potatoes at all since you are putting over RICE. I have not tried the recipe yet, but definitely would not use 2 starches.

        1. Hi Juanita, after having tested this recipe, several times, the potatoes are not being chopped when you add the meat. They are not tender yet when adding the meat, so there is no risk in them getting chopped. If they are already at this point, then the meat was added too late. Hope this helps!

  • We absolutely loved it! I added some Jalapeños. This really added to the already delicious recipe.5 stars

    1. Hi Aurore, probably! It is just something I haven’t tested out so I can’t tell you how the final result will be or taste. If you decide to experiment, I’d love to know how it goes!

  • I used normal 1 lb roll from supermarket. There was more fat than I like and tried to drain. Still to fatty. Recommend using 85% or 93% lean. Also needed much more seasoning. Will not make again.3 stars

    1. Hi! We actually recommend using 93% lean ground beef for this recipe. As far as seasoning, you can definitely adjust to your personal taste. Thank you!

  • Hello! Would love to try this in a slightly lighter version. Have you tried ground chicken instead of beef? If so, would you make any other changes to the recipe?

  • It sounds and looks delicious.
QUESTION: Can frozen country style (the diced square kind).be used in place of the fresh potatoes?5 stars

    1. Hi Deb! While I haven’t tried it, I think it could work. Let us know how it goes if you decide to experiment!
