How to Rebrand Your Blog: A Step-by-Step Guide

Today, I’m thrilled to finally be able to share something with you that I’ve been working on behind the scenes for months: A Guide to Rebrand Your Blog!

A Guide for how to rebrand your blog or website. Change your website name and social media without losing followers!

Those of you who have followed my blog for a while might know that, back when I started, my blog was called, “The Law Student’s Wife.” I picked the name on a whim, because I thought it was cute, and because I figured that the only person who’d be reading it was my grandma. Never did I imagine that what began as a spontaneous hobby would grow into my passion and full-time career.

While “The Law Student’s Wife” was fine at first, I reached the point where I felt the name was no longer personally or professionally appropriate. My husband graduated, and I knew my blog needed to graduate too.

The Law Student, graduated!

I’m not going to lie—rebranding was scary. At the time I took the plunge, I was already earning a full-time income from my blog, and my website was experiencing its highest traffic ever. After my rebrand? You can read the details here, but let’s just say that things have only gotten better, and I attribute much of my continued success to changing my blog to a name that better reflects its message and my personality too.

How to Change Your Website Name

When I decided to rebrand to “Well Plated by Erin,” I was frustrated to discover almost no information existed to explain the process. Rebranding demanded intensive research, detailed planning, and trial and error on my part. Why is no one writing about this? I wondered to myself. After I rebranded, I received dozens of emails and questions from fellow bloggers also thinking of rebranding their websites but not sure where to begin.

Seeing a clear need for information about how to change to a new website name, social media handles, and all other tasks relating to rebranding, I decided to take everything I learned during my own rebrand and put it into a book: A Comprehensive Guide to Rebrand Your Blog.

You deserve to love the name of your website, which is why I wrote this book. Whether you are just casually considering a rebrand and want to know more about what is involved, simply need information about how to update social media accounts, or already have your domain name purchased and are ready to take the rebranding plunge, this book can be a valuable resource for you.

Listen in for more on the ChoppedCon Podcast!

I’m chatting all things rebranding, sharing more helpful information, and confessing the one thing my refrigerator can never be without on the food blogger ChoppedCon Podcast, airing tomorrow, September 23rd. I predict my immediate reaction to hearing it for the first time will be: “Seriously, I sound like that?” Starting tomorrow, you can listen for free here.

THANKS.

I can’t write this post without extending a warm, heart-felt thank you to each of you. Yes, I did everything I could to make sure that my rebrand went smoothly, but ultimately it was YOU, my readers, who supported me and made the transition a success. THANK YOU so much for reading, for sharing my recipes, and for making this site so rewarding. No matter what I call this little corner of the internet, it couldn’t exist without you!
