These are SO good! They taste like a dessert! I used chia seeds instead of flax seed and I am loving them! I also melted chocolate chips with coconut oil and drizzled the bars instead of mixing the chocolate chips in. Will definitely be making again!
These bars are the best ! I no longer pay 3 times the price for commercially produced protein bars that may have additives I dont want! I have made these bars many times and stick to the original recipe .. the only exception is I add 1/3 cup dried zereshk barberries for a sweet tart complement ! no changes are needed ! Thank you for a keeper!
I have made so many different types of healthy bars and protein bars over the years but this is absolutely amazing!!! The texture and taste feels like I’m eating cookie dough. I love it! My kids will love these too. Thank you.
I’m so happy I found this recipe! I made these bars over the weekend, and they’ve been a lifesaver during my busy week. They’re the perfect grab-and-go snack, and they keep me full for hours. My kids loved them too, which is a plus for me because it’s not always easy to find healthier snacks that they actually enjoy!
I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve tried a few protein bar recipes before that didn’t turn out great, but this one totally exceeded my expectations! The bars are soft, flavorful, and super satisfying. I love that they’re made with simple ingredients and no weird preservatives. They’ve been the perfect post-workout snack, and I’m already looking forward to making another batch!
These peanut butter protein bars are seriously the best homemade bars I’ve ever made. They taste just like the ones you buy at the store, but even better—and way healthier! I love that I can control the ingredients and sweetness level. They’re soft, chewy, and packed with flavor. I’ve already shared the recipe with a few friends because I know they’ll love them too!
I made these peanut butter granola bars with just a drizzle of chocolate on top. All 3 of my kids absolutely loved them! These will be a new staple in my house. I always use sprouted organic oats (they are the best!).
This is a wonderful recipie. No need to ever buy store bought protein bars again. A great snack to share and always a hit at the office. I use crunchy peanut butter. I sometimes add chopped walnuts or pecans. Thank you,
Love love love this recipe! I’m reducing the honey due to a sugar issue in the family and find the bars more crumbly due to the reduction. Any thoughts on something else to increase or add to help the binding/setting process? Thanks!!
Hi Angie, only thing I could recommend is maybe maple syrup but I’m thinking that might not be an a good substitute. Others would be agave or brown rice syrup.
I’m sorry to hear that you had trouble with the recipe, Vicki. The amounts, flavorings and timing have worked well for myself (and others) so I wished it would have been a hit for you too! I know it can be so disappointing to try a new recipe and it does not turn out for you.

My second time making these because they are so good! I used almond meal instead of flaxseed, and ended up baking them as i like the texture better!
Thanks for the feedback, Sophie!

These are fantastic! I always have a batch in the fridge. I haven’t looked at a store-bought bar in over a year. My children love them too!

Advice re kosher salt please. Do you put it through a grinder before measuring? I understand it is quite course. Thank you
Hi Sheila, great question. I do not put mine through a grinder before I use it. Hope this helps!

Very tasty. That coconut with the peanut butter and chocolate makes a great bite! this is going in my healthy snack list that taste like a treat.
So glad you enjoyed the bars, Kim! Thank you!
what do you think about adding shredded unsweetened coconut? would that work?
Hy Crys, I think it could work! I’ve used it in these granola bars as well: https://www.wellplated.com/healthy-granola-bars/ Let us know how it goes if you decide to experiment!
looking forward to trying these. I cannot eat anything coconut, is it possible to swap out the coconut oil with avocado oil?
Sure that should work!
So so good. Our whole family loves them for a healthy sweet snack option!
Great to hear, Kathleen! Thank you!
Not impressed. Crumbled apart. “Meh” taste. Waste of ingredients.

could I use oat flour as a substitute for protein powder?
Hi Brenda! I haven’t tried it but I think it could. Let me know how it goes if you decide to experiment with it!
What can you swap for coconut oil? THanks
Hi Jennifer, I think butter could work.
