1. Hi Tammy, blue cheese and goat cheese are among the popular substitutes from readers! I think either would work well! Enjoy!

  • Can I use another lettuce instead of spinach? Say maybe romaine and green leaf? I want to take to a party, but one of the guests can’t each spinach.

  • Love this salad and so does everyone I have served it too! It is the number 1 request when it ask “what can I bring”. My big question is…it the measurement of the poppy seed correct? The first time I made it following the recipe, I came up with a mouth full of poppy seeds! Since then I do what I think is correct!!5 stars

  • This is one of the best salad recipes I have come across. The added flavor of the toasted pecans balances it out so well. I didn’t have balsamic vinegar or poppy seeds, so I substituted with red wine vinegar and everything bagel seasoning. So delicious! I will definitely be making this again!5 stars

  • I was so skeptical about the amount of poppy seeds but apparently they’re really good for you. The dressing is absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly with the strawberries. Our honey made it too thick, but a 25 second zap in the microwave makes the dressing the perfect consistency for drizzling. This is a great salad!5 stars

  • I have followed this recipe more times than I can count. It’s a family favorite. It has also appeared on many a holiday table. Just wanted to say thank you, because it is a home run.5 stars

  • I sat the salads down in front of my mom and husband and the first thing I heard as I walked back to the kitchen were their gasps of pleasure. Every single time I try a new salad recipe, they tell me,”This is the best salad I’ve ever had.” Erin, kudos to you for working through these recipes for ingredients and dressings and making them so easy and so delicious, that is no small task, and we appreciate the fruit of your labor!5 stars

  • My partner and I both enjoyed this. It’s not something we usually make, but it’s a nice change. The ingredients are simple, but together they taste really good.5 stars

  • I made this with my kids helping out, and it was actually a fun recipe to do together. They liked adding the strawberries and mixing everything. Surprisingly, they even ate it without complaining.5 stars

  • Outstanding salad recipe for spring/early summer when strawberries are at their best! I made this to bring for Easter dinner and everyone loved it. This is a keeper (and the balsamic dressing would be great with so many other salad blends as well!)5 stars

  • I made this for lunch and didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I liked the balance of sweet and tangy from the dressing. It ties everything together really well. Next time I might add grilled chicken to make it more of a full meal.5 stars

  • This is the perfect Strawberry Spinach Salad! I served it for Easter and had to use a Baby Spinach/Spring Mix blend which was excellent so a good substitute if you don’t love spinach. The dressing is perfectly balanced and the flavors all marry well. Toasting the pecans was worth the effort.5 stars

  • I am planning to make it for our family gathering for the very first time , I had to find a recipe for it my son suggested it, and sounds good

  • The flavors and textures blended beautifully! A hot with children and adults. Appreciated the time estimates which were spot on. The tips were really helpful, too! one of my favorite Erin Clark recipes. Thank you!5 stars
