This is the gateway Kale Smoothie to end all kale smoothies! And to end all green smoothies in general. It’s made with healthy ingredients like banana, pineapple, kale, and peanut butter, is high in protein and fiber to keep you full, and (this is important) doesn’t taste like kale.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a green smoothie person, have disliked other kale smoothies you’ve tried, or are skeptical of anything green before 11 a.m. in general, you will be hard-pressed to resist this kale pineapple smoothie recipe.
- This healthy breakfast smoothie has dozens of glowing reviews.
- It’s cool, creamy, and absolutely delicious.
- It’s powerful! Start your morning with a glass, and you’ll feel oddly invincible the rest of the day.
I realize I am at risk of dramatizing the impact that a breakfast smoothie can have on a person’s psyche, but this kale pineapple smoothie truly makes me feel fantastic every time I drink it.
After a few sips, I believe I can do just about anything.
- My to-do list? Child’s play.
- A poorly timed run-in with an ex-[boyfriend/girlfriend/boss]? I am the picture of poise.
- Unloading the dishwasher? I won’t put it off one more minute!
With its oodles of fruit, veggies, and protein, this healthy green smoothie makes me feel like a booty-kickin’ superhero ready to take on the world, from my wildest goals to the laundry that I’ve been ignoring for the two weeks.
Now, THAT is power.

A Kale Smoothie Recipe That’s Actually Delicious
If the idea of a vegetable as ferociously green as kale in your breakfast routine makes you wary, I am begging you to give this kale pineapple smoothie recipe a try.
I’ve made dozens of green smoothies over the years, and this one is truly the best of all the healthy green smoothies in the land.
Thanks to the pineapple, banana, and honey, this healthy breakfast smoothie is sweet and creamy, and the kale’s flavor is mild.
Telltale green color aside, you won’t even believe it contains kale. (This Green Smoothie is another delicious way to sneak in some greens.)

The Ingredients
This kale smoothie is SO GOOD for you. It packs fiber, protein, and a whole host of vitamins, antioxidants and other nutrients!
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make it, along with a few of their nutritional benefits.
- Kale. Kale contains fiber, antioxidants, calcium, vitamin K, and many others. It’s also a good source of vitamin C and iron. One cup of raw kale contains even more vitamin C than an orange! You can eat kale raw in a smoothie (no need to cook it first). The raw kale flavor is strong on its own, but the other ingredients mellow it.
- Pineapple. My secret to taming the flavor of the raw kale and making it nearly imperceptible! Anytime I add pineapple to a green smoothie, it completely smooths and offsets the taste of the greens. As a bonus, pineapple also offers a variety of vitamins and minerals. It’s especially rich in vitamin C and manganese. Additionally, pineapple a good source of antioxidants.
- Banana. Another ingredient that tames the raw kale. Banana is high in fiber, antioxidants and other nutrients. Since bananas are low in calories and high in fiber, they may aid in weight loss as well. Banana makes the kale smoothie rich, thick, and creamy, and it naturally sweetens it too. (Love banana in your green smoothies? Try this Blueberry Banana Avocado Smoothie.)
- Honey. A bit of additional natural sweetness. Honey is full of antioxidants, can aid in digestion, and may soothe a sore throat. To make the kale smoothie vegan, swap maple syrup (which also has health benefits!).
- Peanut Butter. A healthy fat that makes the smoothie extra satisfying. You can also swap almond butter or sunbutter, though I do enjoy the peanut butter flavor here (it’s so yummy with the banana and honey).
- Greek Yogurt. A big dollop of nonfat Greek yogurt provides extra healthy protein and makes the kale smoothie even more filling. To make the kale smoothie vegan, use a non-dairy yogurt.
- Almond Milk. My favorite for smoothies of all kinds (I love its flavor and texture), though any kind of milk will do.

The Recipe Steps
While you’ll have the smoothest results with a high-powered blend like a Vitamix, you can make this banana kale smoothie with a regular blender too. Here are my tips:
- If you have a high-powered blender: add all of the ingredients to it, then blend until smooth! It’s that easy.
- I don’t recommend adding the kale stems to the kale smoothie, as they can be too tough and fibrous, even if you have a high powered blender.
- If you are using a regular blender, I recommend starting by blending the kale and almond milk until the kale is as smooth as possible. Add the remaining ingredients from there.
- If you’d like a thinner smoothie, splash in more almond milk. For a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes.

I realize kale smoothies might be sooooo 2016, but as far as this gal is concerned, the green smoothie trend is here to stay.
Food fads may come and go, but this recipe is here to be your little black dress of morning meals.
It’s flattering, all about the essentials, and is designed to make you feel fabulous.

Recommended Tools To Make This Kale Smoothie Recipe
- I recently purchased this blender and love it. I’m excited to use it for years and years to come.
- That said, you do not need a high-dollar blender to make a great smoothie! If you plan to make smoothies a lot, it might be worth looking into options, but if not (or if the price tag is out of reach), you can still make a yummy smoothie.
- For a regular blender, I owned this option for a while. While it doesn’t get things as smooth as quickly as a high-powered blender or come with the same bells and whistles, it’s a good option for the price.
- I also have an obsession with these stainless steel straws. They make everything you drink through them from smoothies, to iced coffee, to even water taste extra cool and refreshing. I also keep a few in my purse for when I’m out and about, so I don’t need to ask for a (plastic or paper) straw.
Kale Pineapple Smoothie

I would make a smoothie of some kind
I feel you, Lisa. Your words resonate with my soul.
I would make smoothies.
Our blender broke ages ago, and I’ve been missing our homemade mango smoothies!
This is a bit of a strange recipe. The peanut butter overpowered everything and couldn’t taste the pineapple. Also too much kale as if the peanut butter wasn’t there it would taste like just kale.
Hi Mary! I’m sorry to hear that this smoothie wasn’t to your tastes. I (and many other readers) really enjoyed the flavors, so I wish it would’ve been a hit for you too!
Mary, try it with Almond Butter—that’s the only way I’ve had it and I love it!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Beenish! Thank you for sharing this kind review!

Smoothies will always be in style because of the easy mix-and-match simplicity that makes them so amazing. I never know what my smoothie will be until I’m blending it since I’m just grabbing the ingredients I have on hand. Since most go together so well it’s nearly fail-safe too!
I love them for that reason too Lisa! The possibilities are endless.
Made this for breakfast this morning with a baby kale mix and vanilla yogurt and it was amazing!! Im not sure if this is supposed to taste this good and be healthy for you!
My girlfriend and I made this smoothie this morning and it was amazing! We both noticed an increase in our energy throughout the day by starting it out with a big serving of veggies! Awesome, Jamie! I’m glad this recipe was able to help you break out of the smoothie rut. Thanks for taking the time to leave this nice review! I really appreciate it!
Definitely need a smoothie that will kick my booty in the morning (;
This smoothie is very, very good! There is no time limit on good taste. We don’t say potatoes are pre-2017, we enjoy them because they are good and good for us. Same with kale. This smoothie is filled with healthy ingredients and tastes delicious.
This is an excellent combo! Thanks, Erin!
Suzy, veggies will never go out of style for me either! I’m so happy you loved the recipe. Thanks for taking time to leave this wonderful comment and rating. It means a lot!
Can you please clarify on the calorie break down. As per my calculation it is close to 480 calories for 1 big serving as opposed to your calculation of approximately 380 calories.
Hi Amisha! I provide calories based on what I calculate using My Fitness Pal to the best of my ability, but it is a guide and a service, not a guarantee. (You can read more on the FAQs page if you’d like.) Your info may vary if you use different brands, sizes of bananas, etc. If exact calorie counts are very important, I recommend you do your own to make sure it matches what you used exactly. I hope that helps!
The smoothie is delicious, but I agree with Amisha, your calorie count is way off. All brands of peanut butter have 200 calories for two tablespoons, which is the amount in this smoothie. Your blog says the whole smoothie has 187 calories, so that’s obviously way off. In my opinion, f you can’t get the calorie count accurate, you shouldn’t publish it.
Hi! The nutritional information is actually calculated for two smoothies, not one. If you want to double-check any recipe on my site, you are always welcome to plug the recipe to http://www.myfitnesspal.com. You can tweak it to however you like.
I forgot to mention how much i love this smoothie. I have a morning craving for this smoothie. Love the fresh taste of kale and combination with pineapple. Since I consume it almost every day, I just wanted to make sure that I was getting my calories correct.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful review, Amisha! I’m so happy to hear you enjoy the smoothie. :)
This smoothie was simply amazing! It was easy to make and it also taste great. Thank you for this recipe. I did however substitute the unsweetened almond milk with regular almond milk. I also used almond butter instead of regular peanut butter. Thanks a bunch?
Nikki, I’m so glad you enjoyed the smoothie! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your tweaks and leave this great review!
Very delicious and sweet and rich with flavors!
Bonnie, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to leave this awesome review.
Looks delicious! Is that a Norwex straw?
Thanks, Susie! The straws are actually these ones. I love them!
This is one of my favorite smoothie recipes!
Rhonda, I’m glad to hear it’s a favorite! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this great review!
I’ve just started to make Kale smoothies. I get a CSA box every two weeks and early in the season, inundated with Kale. So, I thought “why not?” Tried this recipe this morning. My only change was using vanilla flavoured Greek yogurt (it’s all I had). It was absolutely delicious.
Bonne, I am SO GLAD you enjoyed the smoothie! Thanks for trying it and taking time to leave this loverly review!
WOW!!Tried THIS JUST NOW.ONE OF MY FAVORITE ..LESS THAN 5MINUTES.ANY THIBG WITH GREENARY IAM FOR IT..
Cheers Mary, thank you!
Was wondering if there is anything I can replace the banana with-not a fan and all the smoothie recipes I find include a banana ?
Mary, banana has a pretty unique way of making smoothies sweet and thick. I think it depends on the smoothie to know what flavor would work well. For this one, I’d try mango!
Wow! This is so tasty! I had some kale to use up and now I wish I had more kale to make more smoothies. I used almond butter instead of peanut butter due to personal preference and it is so smooth and well balanced. Normally I don’t like bananas in my smoothies but it is not overpowering here. Bonus: my 4-year-old son loved it too!
I’m glad to hear the smoothie was a winner! Thank you so much for giving it a try and taking the time to review.
I needed to change my diet to eating more healthy foods for health reasons. This was the very first ever green kale smoothie I ever had. You were right it’s delicious. I’m not used to cooking from scratch so this is a big change for me. I don’t like cooking for myself. My family and I have different tastes.Thank you
Paula, I’m glad you enjoyed this smoothie! Wishing you all the best!
Oops, forgot the greek yogurt. Does this recipe still have it’s same charm without? Can I maybe just add a little more milk?
Hi Beau, it may be slightly less thick and creamy but should still be delicious!
Love this!!! Starting my New Year of trying to be more healthy. DELISH!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this review!
This is delicious. I made it yesterday for the first time and had to make it again today. I love kale but wasn’t sure how I would like it in a smoothie, but it’s awesome. It will definitely be added to my smoothie rotation recipes. Thanks!
Lisa, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to leave this wonderful review!
I love these, I would recommend: kale, spinach, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, banana, carrots, salt, cinnamon, greek yogurt, honey, ice cubes, and water.. I make them a lot and change the fruits around, sometimes I’ll put in an apple, pear, or blackberries.
Those flavor ideas sound great too, Craig! Thanks for taking the time to share.
Sounds delicious, but I’m vegan. What substitutions would you suggest for the yogurt and honey?
Hi E! You can use maple syrup or agave and any plain (preferably unsweetened) nondairy yogurt you enjoy.
This is the best Kale Smoothie recipe I have found. Having it for lunch right now it is delish! I used vanilla yogurt and cut out the honey,
I am so so happy to hear it Stacy, thank you and cheers!
Kale smoothies will never go out of style! This looks amazing!
Could not agree more, thank you!
Good smoothie, but could have done without the peanut butter as it masks the taste of the other ingredients
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, Porsha! I’m happy you enjoyed the recipe!
I don’t normally leave recipe reviews but this is delicious!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review, Wilma! I’m so happy you loved this recipe!
I made it exactly as written and it’s really yummy. I usually make this with blueberries but I think the the pineapple is a refreshing change. Very tropical.
Thank you for the recipe.
I’m SO happy you enjoyed this recipe, Elaine! Thank you for taking the time to share this kind review!
Hi Erin! Does it matter which type of kale you use? Lacinato kale is my favorite but not sure if it would be okay to use for this! Please let me know what you think! ?
Hi Tracy! You could try any type of kale you like. If you have a high-powered blender, you could use the larger variety. If not, I recommend trying the baby kale variety. I hope you love the recipe!
Great taste. Low cal. Carbs are too high for a meal. Only complaint is I was almost immediately hungry after drinking it. I’ll definitely be making it again. Just trying to figure out how I can make it ahead and take it to work without compromising the taste and quality.
I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the flavor, Debra! Thank you for taking the time to share this review! If you make this recipe ahead, you can store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to enjoy it.
I can’t wait to try this recipe thank you for this delight and especially the details
I hope you love it!!
Amazing recipe!!! It tastes so great and you don’t even taste any greens, wow!
Thank you for taking the time to share this kind review, Anu! I’m happy to hear that this smoothie was a hit!

This MADE my day, Susan! Thank you for taking the time to share this kind review!
Made it as a smoothie and I enjoyed it. Great way to have kale. Hopefully there will be more kale recipes so we can change it up
Thank you for taking the time to share this kind review, Liz! I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the recipe! You can find more inspiration for kale recipes on my site.
I’ve made this smoothie many times minus the peanut butter. So it tasted strange to be me on my first sips, but it got a little better towards the end. I think if I was going to try it again, I would use coconut peanut butter because the coconut would mesh better with the pineapple and banana. I also had to add ice cubes to help scrape the peanut butter off the side of the blender
I’m happy you enjoyed this smoothie, Irene! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This smoothie tastes GREAT! Im a little confused about the calories of it though. Is it 187 for the entire (large) serving or 187 for each small serving?
Hi Kristopher, I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the smoothie! Based on my nutrition estimate, one small smoothie is 187 calories. I hope this helps!
I don’t have to look for any other recipe after reading yours. Surely going to make it and let you know how it come out. Looking forward for more recipes. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this kind comment, Mobasir! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
Hello! I love your smoothies. I sent my husband to buy the ingredients for all your smoothies I wanted to try. He came home with hemp hearts instead of hemp seeds. lol. Is it the same? Can I still follow your ingredients without it ruining the recipes?
Thanks, Alexsandria
Hi Alexsandria! Hemp hearts are just the softer inside part of the hemp seeds, and they will work fine in the smoothie. I hope you enjoy them!
Tastes so good and I’m not even a fan of pineapple
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Nikesh! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This was so tasty! I had a bunch of leftover kale from the farmer’s market I was dreading using since I was sick of sautéing it but was too impatient for kale chips. I love how the pineapple and banana offset the very green, sometimes grasslike taste of kale. My husband enjoys this smoothie too. I added some chia seeds for extra nutrition. Thank you Erin!!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, MP! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This is one of my husband’s favorite smoothies. We’ve made it with oatmilk and pea milk, both are great!
I’m SO happy that it’s been a hit, Holly! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This is SOOOO good!! Thank you for this :)
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Jennifer! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This recipe is delicious and nutritious. However, I wonder about your nutritional information data, eg. iron, calcium, vit C, vit A are stated as “0.” Is that pertaining to the kale/ pineapple / yogurt recipe?
Hi Pam! That was an error and should not have displayed. The value certainly isn’t “0”, I just didn’t have it calced for this recipe. Sorry for the confusion!
Great smoothie!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Gabrielle! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
Erin, Thank you so much for this recipe. I am on a low sodium diet for BP, I need to lose some weight, plus I have a bad tooth so I can’t chew right now so I’m having a hard time finding anything healthy to eat. I just bought a fresh bunch of Kale & was wondering what new thing I could use it in and voila, I found your recipe. I made it with a couple of tweeks just for what I had on hand…Kale for sure but I slightly wilted it in toaster oven for 3 mins., non-frozen banana & crushed pineapple (just because I was hungry & couldn’t wait for them to freeze, lol), plain Almond milk but added vanilla, plain Greek yogurt & in order to drop the sodium content I used unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter and of course the honey plus 4 lg ice cubes. I was so pleasantly surprised! I really like this one! I think that wilting the Kale somehow toned it down a bit & made it smoother. Thanks again!
YAY! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the smoothie, Lisa!
Almost forgot, the biggest tweek I did was adding about 2 tsp Chia Seeds! That really helped thicken it up & added some protein without adding fat.
Delicious, I was surprised. Wasn’t sure about how the peanut butter would fit in. The nutrition info is way off though. The peanut butter alone is 190 calories and it says here the whole smoothie is 187. Otherwise, fantastic recipe. I had to uses full fat greek yogurt because that was all I had (probably made it tastier). Thanks for the recipe :)
I’m so happy that you enjoyed the recipe, Christina! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
I added flaxseed for more fiber. My toddler and I loved it! She kept saying so good!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Harlie! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
Hi Erin,

So good!! Decrease the amount of honey or almond milk if you want it less sweet!!
I am so so happy to hear that!! Thank you for sharing!
Delicious! Didn’t have yogurt or almond milk so I used coconut cream w/ water and I don’t eat peanut butter so I added almond butter instead. Yum!
YAY, so glad to hear it Whitney, thanks!
Loved it…Absolutely delicious. This is my first every Kale smoothie and I am so glad I tried your recipe. I added my usual protein powder and replaced almond with oat milk. Thanks for sharing..Stay healthy :D

Can I swap milk with water??
Definitely, Anika! The swap will alter the flavor and consistency a bit.
This was so great!! My first kale smoothie and probably my last, I don’t think I want to try another. And the only recipe from this site that I’ve tried so far so will definitely try more, there’s lots that I’m interested in :)

I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Danny! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This recipe was absolutely delicious! I had run out of spinach and only had kale so I had to face my fear and try making a kale smoothie—and it did not disappoint! I used almond butter, 2% milk, & Vanilla Greek yogurt instead since that’s all I had on hand. Will definitely make again and recommend!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Beenish! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
Bought Ninja Blender yesterday made this recipe today. It was so easy! And tasted great! And was my 1st one.
Thank you
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Heather! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This is delicious and you can’t taste the kale at all. I used maple syrup pineapple, kale, 1/2 banana almond milk and protein powder. I also really appreciate the info provided on all of the ingredients.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Laura! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
I have been trying to boost my iron since I’m always low and donate plasma. Two foods recommended to eat to help with that is kale and liver…ew! But I put spinach in my green smoothies so might give kale a try. I have to eliminate any dairy as it inhibits iron absorption but apple cider/juice or orange juice will replace with. I’m actually going to try kale! Thanks for this recipe!
I hope you love the smoothie recipe, Cindy!
It tastes really good! Really suprised it dosnt have that strong kale taste, how many calories is it??
I’m SO happy that you enjoyed it, Shah! You can find all the nutrition estimates under the recipe instructions at the bottom of this post. I hope that helps!
This is absolutely delicious! My husband and I loved it and our 10 year old requested one after I let her try mine. This recipe is now a family favorite. Thank you!
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Brenda! Thank you for sharing this kind review!

I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Krystyna! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This is a wonderfully refreshing smoothie!
I have two boys 6 and 3 and they both loved it. It’s not too sweet or heavy.
We really enjoyed it and will be making it again. It is the perfect blend! Blended up so well in the vitamix.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Melissa! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
Finally got a high speed blender and this is the first kale smoothie I made! It’s absolutely delicious and will definitely be a staple of mine.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Kirsten! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
Delicious. Thanks! A few substitutions based on what I had: mango instead of pineapple , spinach instead of kale, almond butter instead of peanut butter. Yum and yum.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Becky! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
This was a very unexpected combo, pineapple and peanut butter. I almost skipped the peanut butter but so glad I added it. It’s delicious!! I also used spinach instead of kale because it’s what I had. Yum! Will be making again
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it, Sarah! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
I was a little scared about adding the peanut butter but hands down this is the best smoothie I have had!! I didn’t have pineapple so I replaced with a Gold Kiwi instead. It was AMAZING!!! Thank you for this great find. Can’t wait to try the other flavours!!
Hi Nathalie! So glad it worked out for you! Thank you for this kind review!
I love this smoothie, the thickness and the flavor is amazing and no you do not taste the Kale.
So glad you enjoyed it Tiffany! Thank you for this kind review!
Delicious and easy to prepare!
Hi Lemy, So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Great reciipe. I used one teaspoon of honey, and it was plenty sweet for my husband and me. Also I used my inexpensive Nutri Bullet and your suggestion of blending the milk and kale first, and it made the mixture very smooth. Thanks for sharing a tastey nutritious recipe!
Mary Ellen
So glad you enjoyed the smoothie! Thank you for this kind review!
Oh my word!!! So yummy!! I switched coconut water for almond milk and I added multisource collagen un flavored. Will be drinking this forever!!! Sharing on Facebook! Thank you so so much!
Hi Julie! So glad you enjoyed the smoothie! Thank you for this kind review!
Thanks so much for this recipe! It has worked its way to the top 5 list of go to smoothies in our house! Even though I have a Vitamix I still agree that you shouldn’t put the stems from the kale in the smoothie because they do not blend well. However, I make one tiny change to the kale, I wash it thoroughly and while it’s still wet I’ll pop it in the toaster oven for 3 minutes on 350 degrees. It takes away the raw green taste of the kale but doesn’t cook it completely. It gives the kale a nice nutty flavor. I do have one question for you, how much do you consider a serving of this smoothie? One cup? Two cups? Thanks again! Love this shake!
Hi Lisa, I have not measured the servings in cups but this smoothie makes two servings, so one serving would be half the mixture. So glad you enjoyed this recipe! Thank you so much for this kind review!
If there’s extra servings left, how long does it last in the fridge?
Hi Jen! This kale smoothie tastes best right after being blended, but can be refrigerated for up to 4 hours (good results) or up to 1 day (less optimal results).
I so love this. I’m having it now for my breakfast. Since I’m a diabetic, I omitted the honey! It’s so delicious!💗😘🥳
Hi Cee! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
When I read the ingredients I was entirely sceptical. I’m not a huge fan of kale or pineapple so the idea of putting BOTH in a SMOOTHIE didn’t exactly float my boat. This is a FANTASTIC smoothie. Try before you judge 👍
Hi Tom! Thank you so much for this kind review! So glad you enjoyed the flavors!
We forgot the honey but it was still perfect.
Hi Car! So glad you enjoyed the smoothie! Thank you for this kind review!
I have now made this smoothie multiple times. As is it’s perfection. I didn’t have any solid peanut butter on hand and I like the powdered because it’s lower in calories. So I just added a heaping tablespoon in place of the creamy. Just as delicious, for sure. I am totally addicted. It fills me up and extends my intermittent fasting easily. Thank you so much for this recipe! A new staple in my smoothie rotation.
Hi Denise! So great to hear! Thank you for this kind review!
Loved making this smoothie !! I’ve been looking for a way to incorporate more veggies into my diet and this is now my go to! The flavors mix perfectly !
Hi Andrea! So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for this kind review!
I absolutely love this recipe!!! Taste amazing and I could feel the nutrients entering my body! It has all my favorite ingredients, Thanks for sharing! I put two bananas only because I needed to use them.
Hi Dave! So glad you enjoyed the smoothie! Thank you for this kind review!
Even though there’s not that much peanut butter, the whole thing kinda just tastes like peanut butter. Which is not what I was expecting or wanting. It’s drinkable though 🤷🏻♀️
I’m sorry that this wasn’t to your tastes, Ren. I (and many other readers) have enjoyed the recipe, so I truly wish you would’ve too!
My daughter is an extremely picky eater. I put this in a pink cup and lid and she drank it all in one go. Thank you for this recipe! I loved it too!
Hi Sarah! LOVE IT! I think all smoothies should go in a pink cup! ;) Thank you!
Going to get ingredients tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy it Sharon!
Tasted primarily like peanut butter and yogurt to me. Just wasn’t what I would have liked a smoothie to be.
Hi Jayden! I’m sorry to hear the recipe wasn’t to your taste. I know it’s disappointing to try a new recipe and not enjoy it, so I truly wish it would have been a hit for you.
Wow!!! This kale smoothie tastes so delicious that I will be preparing it again and again. I’ve been preparing green smoothies for about 5 years, drinking them every morning. Even though they don’t taste good at all, I am very used to that not so good flavor. I’m so glad I decided to give this one a try because this one is not only healthy but also delicious!
Hi Eva! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I am excited to try this smoothie!! But ai only have pineapple juice, it’s pure so can I use that instead of pineapple chunks?
Hi! I’m sorry but I don’t believe just the juice will work. If you decide to experiment, let me know how it goes!
I just did this with pineapple juice instead of whole pineapples. I added a few frozen peaches and a handful of ice, turned out great!
Hi Dan! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
This was delicious! I love kale and pineapple in my smoothie and the peanut butter in this went so well with it. A great recipe!
Hi Jessica! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!

Hi Megan! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I love this smoothie, but was curious if you’ve tried adding protein powder to it before.
Hi Laura! I haven’t tried it myself but others have with success. If you decide to experiment, let me know how it goes.
Such a fun way to get my kids to eat more kale! They loved the taste and the pretty color… and I did too! Pretty much a dessert – that I didn’t have to feel bad about! :) Thank you!!
Hi Rachel! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Fantastic! Also forgot the honey (unintentionally), but just perfect.
Hi Jennifer! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Made the Kale smoothie and loved it
I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Nancy! Thank you for sharing this kind review!
So amazingly good! And I do NOT taste the kale! I used fig syrup for the sweetener, was extra generous with the pineapple and left out the peanut butter, although I look forward to including that in the future. I also left out the yogurt. A local store has pineapples for 50 cents right now, so I have bags of cut up pieces in the freezer. Such a delicious way to get in a lot of greens! Thank you!
Hi Cathy! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
This was delicious! I used cashew yogurt instead of a diary option. It was great!
Hi Njeri! So glad you enjoyed them! Thank you for this kind review!
This smoothie is great! I used guava juice instead of milk.
Thank you so much!
Mindy
Hi Mindy! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I was looking for a recipe to make kale bearable and with your pineapple tip, I’ve found it! I had some carrots so I made some adjustments, I’ll definitely use pineapple from now on. Many thanks.
Hi Paul! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I have to vouch for this one. Tried it today and wow! Delicious! Incorporating dairy/non-dairy substitutes vs. juice/water makes it feel a little heavier and obviously creamier but the taste is great. Will make again. Thank you!
Hi Maryana! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I love smoothies I’m all for them I have lots of kale in my fridge/freezer so I looked up kale smoothies and I stumbled upon this one and my goodness gracious this was amazing I usually don’t like kale and or kale in smoothies but I decided to do it anyway this was a very easy and delicious recipe thank you so much I will be using this again God bless
Hi Sammie! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
This is a VERY good smoothie! I was surprised at the way it turned out but it was really, really good. I omitted the peanut butter and the honey because I don’t eat either one but it still turned out very good. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Cynthia! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
This is so good even without peanut butter and pineapple! I used strawberry yogurt instead of greek yogurt. Thank you! :)
Hi KT Mina! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Thank you for this recipe! Going through chemo I don’t always have an appetite so this is awesome and does the job!
Hi Rochelle! So glad it working great for you! Sending you the best! Hugs!
Great recipe, but mine tasted mostly like peanut butter. Will try next time without it and substitute some protein powder.
Hi Susan! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Just made this and love it! My kale didn’t break down fully, so not as vibrantly green as yours, it’s more of a light green with some tiny tiny green bits in it. However, still wonderful and so good. I used oat milk, was great. Didn’t have a frozen banana so added some extra ice to my banana slices. Super easy way to get some greens in your system—thank you!!
Hi Shelby! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I came across this recipe a few weeks ago. It’s delicious!! I’ve been having this smoothie approximately four times a week. Before having these smoothies I was always tired. Since drinking these smoothies I feel great!’
Hi Marie! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Did not like the pineapple peanut butter combo.
I’m sorry to hear the recipe wasn’t to your taste, Kami. I know it’s disappointing to try a new recipe and not enjoy it. I (and many other readers) have enjoyed it, so I really wish they would’ve been a hit for you too!
Really refreshing for a hot day and delicious!
Hi Robyn! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I’m just starting to make kale smoothies but this one was excellent! I added some frozen avocado for creaminess, but otherwise followed the recipe.
Hi Nan! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Excellent way to enjoy the benefits of kale. Thanks
Hi Will! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
This is the first recipe I tried on my new blender — yum! I added lemon juice and some fresh ginger and it’s just to my liking. Thanks!
Hi Liz! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
Very very sweet.
I was looking for a healthy, soft drink for summer. This drink is heavy, it contains milk, peanut butter, bananas… does that sound like a smoothie? I was fooled! Either way, my mistake.
Hi Amanda. I’m sorry this recipe disappointed you. A smoothie is defined as a thick and creamy beverage and made from a variety of ingredients placed in a blender. The beauty of it is, is that you can make it however you want. They can provide an extra source of vitamins and protein (ie why the peanut butter is added) and people tend to use them as a go-to snack between meals. Also smoothies are very forgiving and can be easily customized so you can basically make it to fit your needs. Hope this helps!
This is a question – I’m allergic to Bananas, can you suggest something else to use?
I haven’t tried it myself but another frozen fruit like pineapple might work. It will not be as creamy without the banana. Enjoy!
I must have made this wrong somehow because I thought it tasted awful, I’m so sorry. Maybe it was too thick or the peanut butter but I expected it to taste a bit more zesty and zingy with the pineapple (and kale) and it just didn’t.
I’m sorry to hear you had trouble with the recipe, Char. I know it can be so disappointing to try a new recipe and it does not turn out for you. It has worked well for myself (and others) and I wished it would have been a hit for you too.
There definitely should be a description of what this thing tastes like because it’s very misleading. The whole thing tastes like peanut butter. And the color looks nothing like the picture. Looks like creamy spinach dip.
I’m sorry to hear the recipe wasn’t to your taste, Sabrena. I know it’s disappointing to try a new recipe and not enjoy it. I (and many other readers) have enjoyed it, so I really wish they would’ve been a hit for you too!
I made this with kale from the garden. I also added a handful of mint leaves and a minced turmeric and lemon juice iceblock. Forgot the honey (next time). Was really good for breakfast.
Hi Frances! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
I’m allergic to pineapple, can I use another fruit?
Thank you in advance
Hi Danielle! Mango would be delicious.
I was super dubious…those ingredients weren’t ones I would normally combine. But it’s really good! Glad I took a leap and tried it. I didn’t have yogurt, so I used cottage cheese.
So glad Elise! Thanks for leaving this review!
My garden had an over abundance of kale this year, so I went looking for a way to use some kale long term from the freezer. All 5 of my children LOVED this recipe. I did use vanilla Greek yogurt since that is what I had in my fridge. It is absolutely delicious! Thank you for sharing.
Hi Shaina! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for this kind review!
After having tried a few kale smoothies in the past and not liking them, I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe. The pineapple brings a nice subtle sweetness and the peanut butter (I used 1 tsp) mellowed out the kale flavor.
Hi Amy! So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for this kind review!
